The dreaded FREE TRIAL that isn’t

Yup, I bought the product and liked it so much that I bought into the company and I though, hey great idea that everyone gets a free trail but that wasn’t really what happened.  If they didn’t cancel within 7 days (before they received the product) they would be changed the full amount AND they would continue to get charged month after month. Now here I am unaware because I had purchase the product so i was promoting a negative-enrolment scam.  Another person was actually charged the other day with deceptive advertising tactics using the same kind of site.

Here I am thinking that if they give me the website, that they must be legitimate, WRONG!!!!

So let’s carry on with this little adventure.  First couple of shipments I received fine and then…..no products.  E-mail after e-mail and call after call with no results.  Calling the credit card company and they were aware of this and with some very aggressive communications, I was able to get my money back.  Some people were not that lucky.  I started wondering just how much money these companies make with people who simply give up and write it off.  Credit Card Company told me the statistics were staggering and that why how these people stay in business and keep pounding the Internet with their sires trolling for more unsuspecting people.

 It shouldn’t have to be this way.                                       

Report any scams that you find out here with a comment on this post.  Let’s fight back and unite to wipe these thieves off the face of the Internet.  Let’s call them pout and tell them that we are not going to take it anymore.

If you are an Internet Marketer, make sure the company or products that you are promoting are not using illegal tactics like this or you will be like the guy in my home town facing a law suit levelled at him by the likes of Oprah Winfrey and the FTC and whatever other agency can jump into the fray.

Good Day  Everyone,

Before I get into today’s topic I just wanted to comment on Tiger Woods and watching him play.  He always intrigues me how focused he is and how he visualizes not one route but two or three outcomes before he takes the swing and then the intensity and strength through his body.  The absolute commitment to the shot no hesitations just total focus. He always inspires me as all great athletes do.  I try to emulate them in their tactics as I go about my business as I fulfill another dream..

Today we are going to take a variation on a theme and everyone gets to play today.

The past, you have to love it don’t you?  Always dictating how our future will be.  We make resolutions that we really intend to resolve.  But we don’t follow through. We make commitments to ourselves and others and we don’t quite get the job done.  We have all these good intentions but somehow we just don’t quite get it off the ground.  And oh yeah, we are full of all the excuses as to why we just couldn’t do it , why it didn’t get done and it is never our fault, it was the situation or someone else intervened or the sky fell that day.   If we were half as committed to getting things done than we were at thinking up those crafty excuses, perhaps we wouldn’t be wasting so much time thinking them up.  My how easy it is for us to rationalize our actions or inactions.  My how we let ourselves off the hook but perhaps we don’t do the same for others.  How do you feel when someone promises something and they don’t deliver?  What goes through your mind then? Pretty judgemental then aren’t we when all the while making up excuse number 20 for why the phone calls we were going to make today just didn’t get done.

The past is what ambushes us and drags us back.  The sad truth is that the past is never really past is it?  It is always with us…sometimes strong and supportive, pushing us toward our goals and dreams like a friendly wind at our backs.  But more often than not it is wound tightly around our shoulders like a shroud its weight dragging us down, tethering us to the ground, occasionally even burying us alive, and killing any hope we have of accomplishing our dreams.  The strange thing is that given the opportunity to rid ourselves of these deadly wraps, we often cling to them instead.  So we have to ask ourselves…if we truly want what we seek….  If we really want to change our reality, why do we not do it?  Why do we settle? Why do we accept less than what we are deserving of?  Don’t you feel just a little bit embarrassed when you look at it?  I mean what are we two year olds, can we not change? Are we deluding ourselves?  Do we really not want to achieve that dream?  We are not cowards, why don’t we just get it done?

The past.  The big ugly past.  You try to dodge and weave but you still find yourself right back to where you came from.  Sad, unhappy, probably even more unhappy because you saw the dream you had it right there in front of you and yet, here you are again.  Why do we put on our past cloak and head out into our future and actually think we will achieve the results we want?

The past is a double edged sword.  I had a past of nothing was good enough except the best,  nothing but first place; that was what was expected of me.  When I came is second I was not  congratulated, I was told there was one person in front of you, you need to do better Therefore if I failed I hid it so no one would know.  I pretended.   I was a fraud.  It also instilled a great sense of determination and perseverance, tenacity, which is the great to the double edged sword.  It was also wearing as I did not stop to rest or to play or to enjoy the fruits of my labour.

I stopped one day just stopped.  I made the decision that from this day I would live with wide open eyes, with no judgement, with no preconceived notions with an open attitude and mind.  I would not care what position I ended up in as long as I was playing full out and living free. And guess what, my world opened up to me with wonder I pursued dream after dream and achieved them one after the other again and again.  A simple change, just one; to rid myself of the past, of the part of past that did not form a future for me that I wanted. That did not serve my dream

Today we are all going to change.  Today we are going to do something new.  Today is a challenge.  We are going to change the themes of our lives just like we change the skins or wallpaper on our computers  If you are a rigid theme we are going to switch to a flexibility theme….give you a few more options to work with.  If you are a static theme, we are going for a dynamic theme. If you are like me and tend to be a little shapeless theme, we will make a list and stick to it today; we will be a structured theme.

See where we are going with this.  Take the challenge and change your life, one moment at a time.

Let’s talk a little reality today. You obviously see the value and beauty of your home business opportunity, or you wouldn’t be involved right? Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone could see it – if everyone could be as excited as you are about this company? Yes it would. But don’t count on it happening. That is reality. 

Your opportunity may be one of the most fun and rewarding businesses in the world, but eventually all of us are faced with certain widespread and universal challenges. No matter how long we’re involved in a business, and no matter how successful we become, there is always the possibility that we will be temporarily shot down by the most prevalent and dangerous weapon of all – the Rejection Rocket. It can and will strike anytime, rendering us virtually immobile, thus destroying our enthusiasm and excitement, which are the essential qualities for success.

Everyone faces rejection in life, but what makes our form of rejection so devastating is that it often comes from the very people we most love and respect: our spouse, our parents, our best friends and business associates. It’s a fact that rejection causes more people to fail in this business than any other factor.

So what do you do? First, realize it will not all be about rejection. You WILL find friends, family, business associates and casual acquaintances that will be eager to talk with you about what you’re doing; they’ll have an open mind and they’ll be eager to also be a part of your business. But it’s those very first “No’s” that can be the hardest to take. That’s what we want to prepare you for. That way it won’t be able to destroy you. You’ll be ready for it if it happens.

We would love to say that every single person who hears about your business will want to join.  We can’t do that because we know there are a few single minded people in the world. 

One of your biggest obstacles will be, “This is too good to be true.” Getting them to the website and the Presentation Business Overviews will convince them but it may take some time to get them there.

The way to deal with rejection is to CHOOSE to allow it to motivate you to succeed. Turn your battles into a motivational force and let that force propel you through those early rejections.

Let’s look at this… It really is true that a “no, thank you” is not a personal rebuff. A waitress pouring coffee in a coffee shop might be told, “no, thanks” by one, “no more for now,” by another. She might be told, “I have plenty, thanks”, or even “I don’t like coffee.” But none of these responses sends her running to the lady’s room in tears because all her customers rejected her. And yet that is comparable to what happens to some brand new entrepreneurs. They take “No,” however it is said, too personally. Think of sharing your business as a sifting process. Like the waitress walking around with a coffeepot, we are merely searching for those who WOULD like to have what we have to offer. Accepting “No” is merely part of the process of finding those who say “Yes.”

You know, often the mere fear and anticipation of rejection will keep some new members at home. Fear of getting started is the primary reason for failure. It is an obvious but unspoken phenomenon. You might hide behind the need to learn more, or you want to understand the powerful program better. You figure if you don’t talk to anyone, you can’t be rejected – right? You also can’t build a business and make any money. You’ll go weeks or months doing this “busywork,” then decide this opportunity just doesn’t work.

The reason will probably be clear to everyone but you. The mere anticipation of rejection leads to non-activity, a certain road to failure. In traditional business, things may just happen, but in Life success comes to those who MAKE THINGS HAPPEN!

We’ve already talked about your immediate goals and your long-term goals. Let your goals be foremost in your mind. “See” them on a daily, hourly basis. Let your dreams and your determination carry you beyond the rejection rocket. Know that it is going to happen. Accept that it is going to happen. Make it your friend instead of your enemy. Know it will make you stronger. Know it will help you surround yourself only with people who want to change their lives. Know that it is these people who are going to help you achieve the financial independence you want for your life.

Be sure you make the numbers work for you. If you only send a few E-mails or hand out a couple Business Cards, the act of rejection by those few becomes bigger than life. If you contact a few dozen people each week, rejection is no problem because a bunch of them will always get involved. Remember this law of balance: increase the number of approaches and decrease the impact of rejection.

One final thought. Think about these people who are rejecting you and your business. Are they wildly successful? Do they have true financial independence? Are they living the kind of life you dream about? Then why would you really care what they think? Whatever it is they are doing sure isn’t working!  File them away for future contact and move on! Don’t let them defeat you!! Show them they should have listened to you in the first place!!

One more final thought is to tell you to call someone you know who is also working to change their life. It might be your best friend; it might be someone else. When the rejection rocket has landed on your head and heart, and you’re wondering what in the world you’re doing, call someone.

I recently read an anecdote about the Irish writer Frank O’Connor. When he was a young boy, he and a good friend spent a lot of time wandering their Irish countryside. Whenever they came to an orchard with a wall too high to climb, they would throw their caps over the wall so they would have no choice but to figure out a way to retrieve them.

I love that!

Instead of seeing a wall, they saw a challenge.

Instead of seeing themselves blocked off, they saw an opportunity to rethink the obvious.

Instead of seeing their day ruined by something bigger than themselves, they saw a giant to be vanquished.

By throwing their caps over a wall they couldn’t climb over, these enterprising young men taught themselves how to think creatively. They also chose to be excited over an obstacle instead of being defeated by it.

This is such a great lesson for us.

Each of us will face walls that at first appear too high to climb. These are times when we feel trapped by something much bigger than we think we can handle - times when we feel overwhelmed or even paralyzed by fear or anxiety.

We have several choices at those times.

We can:
- try to ignore the issue and hope it goes away,
- run away from it and hope we can out-distance it, or
- face it head-on and decide to deal with it.

I believe that most of the time, we need to choose the last option. The moment we do, we’ve started the process of overcoming that which is blocking our way.

Let’s allow our minds to think beyond the norm and imagine ways to recover our equilibrium by coming up with as many options as possible to reclaim our “hats.”

When you feel too overwhelmed to come up with options by yourself (and who doesn’t at times?) talk with a trusted friend, colleague, or counselor. Or divorce yourself from your problem and brainstorm alternatives as if it belongs to someone else and you are helping them come up with different options.

Knowing your hat is on the other side of the wall lets you know the wall is not the end - it is only a challenge, an opportunity to help you see and travel farther on the journey we call life.

Choose to be a hat thrower and you will definitely be on the right road to living your dreams. Today, as you take the needed steps toward your passions don’t be discouraged by what looks like a roadblock!

You can overcome anything in your way. It may take a little while but you’ll make it! I know you will because…

You can be have and do anything that you want to.  You do have the power!

Greetings Fellow Entrepreneurs!

Today let’s talk about something that may be bothering you and let’s see if we can’t find a solution.  You decided at some point to become your own boss, to work from home and earn a great living doing it.  You got excited just thinking about all the possibilities and started dreaming of all the things that would happen in your life once you were that person, having that freedom, having that extra cash, spending more time with your family, finally taking a great vacation at an exotic locale. 

You searched on the net and found yourself some great thing that you really resonated with and thought, hey everyone will want this because I do. You got started and proceeded to spend more money than you ever made and you started feeling a little bit like maybe this wasn’t the right choice.  You may have even tried several different opportunities with the same result.  Why do you think that is or was?  Is it because everything you picked was a scam and you seem to keep picking the same thing over and over or is it you?  What about free enterprise intrigues you but doesn’t allow you to make money doing it.  Are you not passionate enough?  Are you not desperate enough?  What is it?  I can tell you right now that if you are unable to put your finger on your trigger, to find out what stops you from pulling it, you will never pull it and you will  forever  be right where you are.

We have to have a clear understanding of what is stopping us.  We have to know without a shadow of a doubt what stands in our way.

Okay so let’s take a look at this.  What prevents you from fully immersing yourself and getting results from your home business or small business?  Are you not putting in enough hours, do you not have enough knowledge, well, it could be any things but for most of you it is sheer terror, fear. 

Fear that when you get to where you want to go, it won’t be what you thought.  Fear that you will fail.  Fear that you will look like a fool.  Fear that you can’t do it.  Fear that you will have to get on a plane if you can afford that lux vacation, Fear that you will leave your friends behind, Fear Fear.  Terror terror night sweats, bad dreams…does any of this sound a bit familiar to you? 

It should because actually no one gets a free ride; everyone faces this in some form or another to some degree or another.   You have to find out what that fear is and address it.  You have to examine your passion.  You may challenge yourself…am I really cut out for this?  That is just a manifestation of fear and you need to look beyond it because if you decided one day that you were going to do this, you will.  If one day you thought you would dabble in this, you will.  If one day you thought I think I will try this…that is all you will ever do and it is your fear speaking loud and clear to you and you are listening.

I know how it feels.  I was a person who for a time in my life only did what I was extremely good at.  I cooked amazing meals, I skied, I surfed but I only cooked what I could very well, skied slopes and surfed waters I knew.  I didn’t do anything that I didn’t already know I could do well.  I was afraid I wouldn’t be viewed as perfect.  I needed to be perfect and successful and only did the things that reflected that.  Yeah, I limited my life, I know that but I was also comfortable and secure.  I was viewed as an expert in many things but it was a hollow victory because I knew that was what I was doing.  I presented myself in such a way that people thought I was this amazing do everything right person but I wasn’t. I was hiding behind that persona and guess what? Although it presented the illusion of utopia to everyone else. 

I was suffering because no one knew the all of me and I had worked so hard at being this other person that I couldn’t admit to the sham could I? It takes a lot to admit something like this but I found it really was taking much more energy to stay in that comfort zone than it was to break out and actually do some things I always wanted to do.  I wanted time freedom.  I wanted wealth.  I wanted a great family life. 

Yes, like all of you, I wanted it all and I decided one day to work towards getting it.  I found out that I could because that day, although it took many years leading up to that day, that day, that moment,  I made a decision; a decision that changed my life forever and released me from my fears.

So today if you are struggling in your business, then take a look at exactly what that is that is stopping you.  Are you afraid of what your friends will think?  Are you afraid of failure?  Are you afraid of success?  Are you afraid of the unknown?  Whatever that fear is, until and unless you remove it, you will be right where you are tomorrow, next week, next year; for a lifetime.

Here is another little secret I will tell you, yes it is scary, but if you just move forward one little moment at a time, get comfortable and then move again…it gets easier and before you know it you are living to your full potential.  So look deep inside today, what is the trigger for you, what will make you go beyond your limits and make a commitment not do live your life within the confinement of comfort but to be brave and live a life you dream of. 

Remember that enthusiasm of the first day that you decided to take this journey?  Where is it today?  Has it waned?  Is the bloom off the rose for you?  Did it get a little tougher than you thought?  Are you having to make adjustments, commitments, promises to yourself that you don’t know you can live up to?  I am here today to tell you it will be a hard, it will take some adjusting and it will take all of your determination and resolve but if the prize is worth it, you will buckle down and do it; you will face any and all fear, because the alternative really sucks.  It is the life you are comfortable in, yeah, but it is also the life you were looking to change on that first day you made a decision. The first moment when you said enough is enough.  Are you taking the action to change that reality or are you cowering in fear.  If there is a will, there is a way.  If there is a want there is an excuse to say “Maybe I am just not worthy of it”…but you are. 

Please don’t give up on your dream.
