If You Can Dream It - You Can Do It
Many many people are passionate about something. They have found something they love to do but maybe aren’t making the money they wanted or it isn’t quite working out. “When you have found something you love then just go for it!”. “Full out right to the finish line!” Yes, we all know by now that that is much harder than it sounds. Maybe in some cases darn near impossible!
So what is the secret? How do you make this happen? How do you take your home based business idea and make it a reality? How do you quit your job to do what you really desire without going to the poor house? How do you lose those last 10 stubborn pounds? How do you quit bitting your nails?………
Well, first let’s look at what happens internally when we declare a dream to ourselves…..FEAR shows up! This paralyzes the cerebral cortex, the area of the brain that controls the mental processes needed to accomplish a task. Now, you should feel a little better as now you know it is a physical thing and you can work with that!
So let’s take a trip to Japan… let’s look at the practice of Kaizen (taking baby steps). This can help you dodge that fear and attain any goal that you set.
There is an exact method to this so pay attention here.
Think SUPER-SMALL
When you focus on the work that it will take to accomplish big goals it ususally causes you to give up before you’ve even begun. the solution is to think of the tiniest step possible that you can take - one that would seem embarrassingly trivial - this will circumvent any excuses you would have in not taking the step. for example, if you are trying to kick your sugar addiction then instead of going cold turkey and thinking abut entering rehab just knock off a few granules to start. this way you will feel like you did somethng, you will have asense of accomplishment. You should feel NO RESISTANCE inside you. If you do, you are going to fast….all the way to failure.
Try some “Out of Step” steps
there is more than one way to achieve any goal. Use your creative imagination. If going to the gym to shave off those 10 or 20 extra pounds is a daunting task then just start by standing up during the commercials and lifting your legs a couple of times. Build your momentum from there. congratulate yourself on your accomplishment!
Reward Yourself Often.
Because you are setting tiny realistic goals, you will “feel” successful everyday. go ahead and celebrate those steps to keep your motivation soaring! If you are sitting there staring at a blank piece of paper or empty computer screen trying to inspire yourself to write….go out and treat yourself to a brand new journal that you will someday fill.
In all things think teeny tiny steps and ease yourself into it. think of that cold watter at the beach…..small steps before you jump full fledged into the waves and swim and float to success.
